EVENT DETAILS

In collaboration with the New-York Historical Society and Oxford University Press, the Bryant Park Reading Room presents a series of free lectures to stimulate your mind on popular topics including politics, biography, Civil War history, and more.

What events caused the declaration of the Civil War over 150 ago on the grounds of Fort Sumter? Louis P. Masur’s newest book, The Civil War, masterfully contextualizes the war’s progression, highlighting key military, political, and social events, while making personal connections to soldiers’ daily lives.
