In collaboration with the New-York Historical Society and Oxford University Press, the Bryant Park Reading Room presents a series of free lectures to stimulate your mind on popular topics including politics, biography, Civil War history, and more.
In celebration of Grand Central Terminal’s 100th anniversary, Sam Roberts uncovers the history behind this monumental station, the long-lasting cultural effects upon the community, and the progression of urban expansion.

SPEAKER BIO
Sam Roberts, author of Grand Central: How a Train Station Transformed America, is the Urban Affairs Correspondent for The New York Times and has won numerous prizes for his writing. His book, The Brother, was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
LOCATION
This program will be held at the Reading Room in Bryant Park. The Reading Room is located on the 42nd Street side of the park between 5th and 6th Avenues. Look for the burgundy and white umbrellas.
